Mark joined Offord Group in 2019 as a consultant on the analytical solutions team. He brings several years of experience conducting research and analyzing data to yield actionable insights for clients in the non-profit and philanthropic sectors.
Mark’s interest in analytics and philanthropy began during his undergraduate studies at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, ON. He studied business administration with a concentration in marketing, worked as a research assistant to professors, and served as National Outreach Director with Students Offering Support.
After graduating, he joined The Center for Effective Philanthropy in Cambridge, MA as an Analyst and advanced to Associate Manager on their Assessment and Advisory Services team. During his tenure, he crafted surveys and analyzed constituent feedback to advise dozens of philanthropic foundations in their work with grantees and donors. He also led major efforts to optimize the organization’s data management infrastructure.
Most recently, Mark completed a Master of Arts in Theological Studies at Regent College in Vancouver, BC where his studies and research focused on practices of giving and generosity. In addition, he employed his technical skills conducting exploratory analyses of donation, donor, and alumni data to inform the College’s prospect identification and donor communication practices.
Mark is a data geek in and outside of the workplace. In particular, he loves analyzing sports statistics and cataloguing the qualities of interesting beers. He also enjoys hiking, cheering on Toronto sports teams, and photography. After several years on both coasts, Mark is happy to be back in his hometown with his wife, Sophia.
